A Day At The Umlauf

I’m 25 guys! Last week I celebrated my birthday with family & my favorite dessert, creme brûlée! This pretty jumpsuit was the perfect outfit for a day out in Austin. Is it just me, though, or does no one dress up here? I was wearing this linen jumpsuit, which felt casual enough to me, and I felt way too overdressed. Pretty much everyone wears workout leggings and tank tops, but I’m hoping that trend eventually breaks!

I spent the morning in the Umlauf~ a sculpture garden right in the middle of Austin. Located right next to Barton Springs Pool, tucked into a small forest of trees, is a little garden filled with bronze sculptures created by artist Charles Umlauf. There is a pretty waterfall {more like a creek} that flows down into the garden creating a serene space. We went early in the morning, just after they opened, and it wasn’t crowded yet. Admission is also free during the summer months!

Being Texas, it was already scorching outside, but the garden was so pretty it almost didn’t matter! My middle school had a sculpture garden, and I had some flash back moments to art sketching classes done in the garden at school.

There are plenty of benches and pretty shaded spots to enjoy lunch al fresco~ I think it would be a great reading spot when Zilker Park gets too busy. I highly recommend visiting if you get the chance!

Overall, it was a very quiet day that ended with lots of pasta~ my fav! A thunderstorm rolled in during the evening, and I finished the day watching Doris Day and Rock Hudson movies. C’est la vie!

I paired this linen jumpsuit with jute wedges and a woven wrap belt. I added in a tortoise shell headband and this pearl studded clutch bag for a little something extra. This will be a go-to summer staple for me~ great for outdoor events and parties!

Happy Summer!
