Rae Dunn Bridal Shower

My older sis, Treva, is getting married this summer, & I was so excited to be able to plan her bridal shower! She is an avid Rae Dunn collector, and she often takes me on early morning shopping trips to find the best pieces at Marshalls. Seriously, y’all, people line up at the door before the store opens to grab these super simple, but adorable, ceramics that feature big letter writing. I knew right away that the best way to use some of the Rae Dunn she has collected was to display it all at her shower, and it still was only a small fraction of what she has!

First, we picked out the venue, and we are lucky enough to have great friends that own this quaint and beautiful restaurant, Dahlia Cafe. They let us use the entire outside covered deck to host this special party! Of course, being Texas, the weather decided to rain like crazy the entire weekend. It didn’t stop us from having a great time, and enjoying friends and family that had traveled to celebrate the wedding festivities.

Since we were having the party at Dahlia’s, I knew I wanted to order dahlias (of course!) as the centerpieces for the tables. They were BEAUTIFUL. Honestly, it has become one of my favorite flowers. You don’t see them very often in Texas, but I am definitely keeping a note to self to plant these at my future home! I ordered these gorgeous break-out dahlias, and then mixed in smaller dahlias with pink and white roses. I used eucalyptus leaf for the garlands as well. I went with a modern, but feminine style for the aesthetic to show off the Rae Dunn without overdoing it. I think the flowers became the stars of the show!

There was an instant camera photobooth set up for guests to take a photo and write a special note for the bride and groom.

To fill the Rae Dunn pieces, we had a yogurt parfait bar, mini pancake skewers, tea sandwiches, and… a donut tower! We filled in the spaces with Jordan almonds and coconut merengues. I had some semi-naked cakes made as well, and it’s safe to say it was a very SWEET wedding shower.

Last, but not least, guests left with these personalized cookie party favors!

We all had so much fun celebrating my sister and her fiancé, Justin, and we can’t wait for the wedding next month!

xx,

Samantha
